Zachariah is Nine

Having fourteen 9-year old boys for a slumber party is quite an event. Zach has lots of very good friends. We seriously would not recommend to anyone who wants their sanity preserved. Since ours was lost long ago, it was not too much of an issue. Nat had as much fun as just about anyone, we think.

Aunt Cribber Visit, Z can climb, and Nattie and His BFF Abram

Yes, Auntie Cribber, Z can climb to the top of that rope! Nattie and Abram are very best friends.

Visit to Utah!

Zach loves shoveling snow - we can rent him out in the winter to interested parties up North. Nattie liked the snow too - mostly - it was a bit cold at times. Beth, Dana, and Layla were spectacular hosts as usual. Great trip! Even when Z threw up in Dana's car on the way to airport!! Sorry Uncle Bee Bee!!

We had a fabulous summer vacation in SF with a grand fiesta to celebrate Mummy's birthday! We got to the beach in SF and the ranch, to the zoo, to the Exploratorium, to the park, to the Giants game, to margaritas!! What more could you ask really?

Some new shots

The boys are growing up. Nat is talking a lot and we can understand him ~50% of the time. He seems most articulate when angry. He also parrots very well. He is developing his skills as an artist as Grandma and Opa were witness to on their visit in January. Unfortunately paper is too small a venue for his passion. The walls have done nicely on the other hand. Thank goodness for Mr. Clean's miracle sponge. Zach is having a grand old time in second grade. He's reading and mastering addition and subtraction. He's also doing soccer and science club after school. They are busy. The same could be said of the parents but somehow the little guys always have more energy.......

Sometimes the world is a cruel place for Nattie.

Are there tatoos in our future?

We find we have a lot of pictures of our boys in their undies.
Yes, they do have clothes. Zach is reading to his brother now.
Andy and I welcome the help as Nat prefers one book over
and over and over. Zach is also training his brother in
some kind of meditation? we think that's what it is.......

Clearly a rock star,
but Nattie shuns the paparazzi.

Nat turned 2 in September.
Wow.

Pumpkin patch 2006
Nat would NOT stand in front of the measuring stick this year.
Zach did grow from last year, we are happy to see.

Well, Zach turned 7 on May 15th. We are beginning to see signs of his front teeth coming in (finally!). Although just one. This is about one year after getting them pulled (poor guy). We had a bang-up Harry Potter party in the park and a family party too on the real day. The big present was a game-boy that he had enjoyed playing with. Unfortunately his little brother is also completely enamored with it when Zach is playing creating many annoying distractions. We're trying to break it to Z gently that this might be a pattern for the next couple of years or so......

We had a great July 4th holiday weekend with Beth, Dana, and Layla (2.5 years) visiting from Salt Lake City. Sorry Beth I have no pictures of you to post. Somehow Dana hogged all the camera time. Go figure. Layla really enjoyed trying to direct Nat around town. Nat was not an extremely cooperative subject, however. We predict an engagement announcement in 20+ years or so......

Nat is conversing a bit these days. The favorite word is still "No". But the new Elmo DVD from Layla has prompted the "elmo on tv" sentence that we are now hearing with regularity. And so it starts.
